Pero: ¿Qué dice sobre nosotros nuestra foto de perfil? Este elemento como toda expresión grafica esta cargada de símbolos y mensajes que según sus distintas variables pueden dar al espectador una idea de cómo es nuestra personalidad.

Gawker una empresa newyorquina especializada en comunicación online conformada por una amplia red de blogs y sitios Web entre ellos el afamado Gizmondo. Tomo al azar algunas fotografías de usuarios de Facebook, analizó el material, lo clasifico e hizo los hallazgos que a continuación presentamos.

Retratos
En este tipo de imágenes, el usuario aparece fotografiado de la cintura para arriba, pudiéndose apreciar perfectamente y a detalle rostro y torso del protagonista.

Mensaje que proyecta: Por lo regular este tipo de graficas las utilizan personas con una sana autoestima, son equilibrados, están contentos con su cuerpo y tienen confianza en su apariencia.

La persona fotografiada está a una distancia prudente de la cámara, en ella se puede apreciar su rostro, silueta completa y apariencia.

Mensaje que proyecta: Las personas que utilizan en su perfil este tipo de fotografías, están muy contentas y quieren que todo el mundo se entere que han madurado y ya son todos unos adultos comprometidos y responsables que por fin han sentado cabeza.

Fotos de fiestas
En ellas el protagonista de la instantánea por lo regular esta acompañado por más personas, suele estar bebiendo, fumando o bailando de manera desinhibida.

Mensaje que proyecta: El mensaje que envían estas postales es muy claro: eres joven, irresponsable, desenfrenado y te encanta salir a divertirte con tus amigos.
