El servicio aparecerá esta semana en la página oficial de la red social.

CIUDAD DE MÉXICO – La red social Twitter lanzó su nuevo modelo publicitario bajo el titulo de “Promoted Accounts” (“Cuentas Promocionadas”) con el cual planea obtener más recursos económicos y mejorar su sistema.

Estas cuentas son sugeridas con base en la lista del usuario de qué personas u organizaciones podría seguir. Cuando una empresa promociona su cuenta de Twitter bajo este nuevo sistema, los algoritmos de la red social buscan dentro de su base de datos a aquellas personas que tengan elementos en común y la muestra como “usuario que deberías seguir”.

“Por ejemplo, si alguien esta suscrito a varias cuentas de Twitter relacionadas con los videojuegos, pero no sigue al usuario de @xbox, la empresa recomendará esa cuenta dentro de este espacio”, dice Carolyn Penner, directora de comunicaciones de la empresa, vía su blog oficial.

Penner comentó que se estará probando este servicio con un “puñado” de compañías inicialmente, pero próximamente el servicio se extenderá a varias firmas.

Asimismo, mencionó que estas sugerencias estarán disponibles desde la página oficial de la plataforma virtual esta semana y, próximamente, desde clientes externos como TweetDeck o HootSuite.

La red social también anunció este lunes a su nuevo CEO, el ejecutivo Dick Costolo, en sustitución voluntaria por parte de Evan Williams.

La compañía, con cuatro años de existencia, reportó en septiembre contar con más de 145 millones de usuarios.
