Según los resultados del estudio Inside Twitter, realizado por la empresa Sysomos, durante el mes de junio del año pasado el 24% de los tweets posteados en el sitio de microbloggin son emitidos por sistemas automatizados.

Estas herramientas cibernéticas conocidas como bots, son desarrolladas únicamente y con el fin de generar contenidos de interés para los usuarios de esta red social tomando como referencia información originada en internet y recabada a través de: blogs, bookmarks y otras redes sociales

Lo que hace el sistema es detectar tópicos de interés para los cibernautas, así como tendencias nacidas en Internet para en base a esos datos crear mensajes que después serán difundidos via twitter.

El alto grado de eficiencia con que la información es seleccionada hace que los mensajes generados con la ayuda de este tipo de robots pasen desapercibidos burlando los filtros de seguridad y que no sean considerados spam o información basura por parte de otros usuarios de la red, también cabe destacar que diferenciar entre uno de estos bots y un ser humano se vuelve una tarea sumamente complicada, sobre todo para aquellas personas que no conocen mucho sobre sistemas informáticos.

La información expuesta nos sirve para detectar otro dato interesante: y es que la automatización de este tipo de servicios, viene a reforzar la presencia de las marcas comerciales en Internet ahorrándole a las empresas que utilizan en su estrategia de promoción la presencia en redes sociales tiempo, dinero y esfuerzo.

Inside Twitter también desvela que es únicamente el 5% de los usuarios de Twitter quien genera el 75% de los contenidos de esta red social.
