Según datos de la empresa de investigación de mercados  The Competitive Intelligence Unit (The CIU)  para el cuarto trimestre de 2020 en México se contabilizaron 126,014,528 líneas de telefonía celular, cifra que supera a los 126,014,024 millones de personas que reportó el INEGI como población total, como parte del Censo Poblacional 2020; por su parte la empresa statista reportó en 2020, que el número de usuarios de smartphones en nuestro país se estimó en aproximadamente 80,9 millones y se proyecta  que el número de usuarios para estos dispositivos supere los 95 millones en 2025.

Estos datos nos sirven para respaldar lo que vemos día con día, la integración del uso del teléfono celular a nuestra vida cotidiana; desde estos pequeños dispositivos que más que una herramienta para hacer llamadas se han convertido en pequeñas computadoras podemos trabajar de manera colaborativa, aprender nuevas habilidades y pasar largos ratos de ocio.

El teléfono móvil se ha convertido para millones de mexicanos en una extensión de su escuela , casa y oficina.
