El presidente de México Felipe Calderón quien es miembro de Twitter desde el 15 de Mayo del año en curso se ha convertido en un asiduo usuario de esta red social. Desde su cuenta oficial @felipecalderon la cual ha sido verificada recientemente el primer mandatario expresa sus puntos de vista sobre diversos temas de actualidad que involucran a nuestro país, siendo también este un foro abierto para que Calderón comparta puntos de vista con los más de 250 mil ciudadanos que le siguen en el popular sitio de microbloggin.
Pero, ¿A cuantas personas sigue el primer mandatario? , ¿Quienes son estas personas?, ¿A que se dedican?, ¿Qué temas abordan? Todas esas pequeñas e inquietantes dudas las resolveremos a medida que lee usted estas líneas. 
El grupo de personas a las que el Presidente sigue a través de Twitter es muy reducido y se compone únicamente por 100 individuos. Los perfiles son diversos e incluyen desde: políticos, miembros de su gabinete, compañeros de su partido, periodistas, líderes de opinión, así como personalidades del espectáculo y los deportes. 
Algunos de los nombres que se incluyen en esta selecta prole son: Javier Lozano, Alonso Lujambio, Georgina Kessel y Ernesto Cordero entre otros miembros de su gabinete. Destacan también todos los diputados del PAN, así como Gustavo Madero y Santiago Creel también compañeros de partido.
El empresario más importante del mundo Carlos Slim y Lorenzo Zambrano de origen regiomontano pertenecen también a la exclusiva lista, al igual que su paisano el piloto de fórmula 1 Esteban Gutiérrez además de estrellas de la farándula como: Lady Gaga, Gloria Trevi, Pepe Aguilar, el director de cine Guillermo Arriaga y los actores de cine Gael García Bernal y Diego Luna conocidos como “Los Charolastras”.
Desde esta trinchera virtual el titular del ejecutivo se mantiene pendiente de las opiniones de varios periodistas entre los que destacan Lydia Cacho, José Carreño, Salvador Camarena, José Cárdenas y Javier Solórzano. También lee las opiniones de los representantes de los partidos de oposición como la del priista Luís Videgaray y Marcelo Ebrard. Corona la lista su esposa, la señora Margarita Zavala quien le felicito a través de este medio el día de su cumpleaños.
El paso del Presidente Calderón ha sido un poco accidentado llegando a existir en algún momento dos cuentas oficiales @Presidente_FCH y @felipecalderon desde las cuales se podían leer las opiniones del presidente ambas de ellas sin verificación por parte de Twitter.
Al abrir este espacio de comunicación El Primer mandatario mexicano, pasa a formar parte de esta tendencia que han venido adoptado varios líderes políticos mundiales, creando perfiles en el cada vez mas popular sitio de microblogging en el que bastan solo 140 caracteres para expresar ideas u opiniones.
