Las razones por las que se comparten dependen de la región. Los lectores americanos y europeos tienden a distribuir las noticias que consideran que pueden ser útiles para sus amigos, familia o compañeros de trabajo, mientras que los asiáticos son más proclives a compartir aquellas que refuerzan sus propias creencias o su identidad.
