Zuckerberg, de 26 años y cuyos inicios en las redes sociales llegarán al cine este año con la película “The Social Network”, se impuso en este ránking al líder de la tecnológica Apple, Steve Jobs, que acabó segundo, y a los directivos de Google Sergey Brin, Larry Page y Eric Schmidt, que quedaron en tercer lugar.

El magnate Rupert Murdoch, propietario del gigante mediático News Corporation, y el director ejecutivo de Amazon, Jeff Bezos, completaron el quinteto de poderosos del mundo de las nuevas tecnologías, donde no faltó Michael Bloomberg, alcalde de Nueva York y dueño de la cadena Bloomberg, que figuró en séptimo lugar.

Evan Williams y Biz Stone aparecieron entre los diez primeros (puesto 9) por la creación y el desarrollo de la red social Twitter.

La primera mujer en esta clasificación fue la cantante Lady Gaga que se situó en el puesto número 23, muy por delante de la presentadora Oprah Winfrey, que quedó en el 34.

La lista incluyó figuras como el presidente de la multinacional de la moda PPR, François-Henri Pinault, marido de la actriz mexicana Salma Hayek, que figuró en el puesto 17, y el magnate de las comunicaciones Carlos Slim, que apareció en el 31.

La persona más influyente de Hollywood para Vanity Fair es Johnny Depp (20), seguido por Tom Hanks (25), James Cameron (36) y J.J. Abrams (50).
